I had so much fun shooting Shay Laren the first time we got together for iheartgirls, we immediately resolved we had to shoot again. When Shay went brunette, we decided we’d make it happen ASAP. Of course, I like shooting her so much any excuse would do.
Adding incentive to the mix was Shay’s newest family member–the adorably kitty named “Gato.” If I was a superhero, my kryptonite would be kittens. I cannot possibly resist taking pictures of a kitten under any circumstances. Add the beautiful Shay in her underwear, and I’m done. Powerless. I had to shoot this.
The shoot was just as fun and adorable as it looks. Gato was such a cutie, and such a handful. When the camera wasn’t out, she lay drowsy in the same spot, but the second I started snapping, she was exploring the couch, running out of frame, and generally being a curious kitten… meaning unruly and adorable!
I love how these turned out. Shay, as always is radiant, and I loved shooting her in her own home–it lends a comfy, relaxed vibe. These photos just make me feel warm and fuzzy… like cuddling a kitty!

Thanks Mr Bond! I rarely shoot natural light but it’s fun to get out of my comfort zone and do something that looks a little more natural.
