I’ve had a couple of ideas I’ve been wanting to shoot ever since I first became a photographer. I won’t give the others away (they’ll happen someday!), but one of them came to pass very recently: shooting a beautiful girl in an orchard of cherry blossoms.
That girl? Emily Bartholomew, just days after moving to Los Angeles. I’ve shot Emily a couple of times for the site, and was so excited to hear she was moving out! Little did she know I’d put her to work pretty much immediately after she set foot in the city. I had her specifically in mind for this shoot and didn’t want to do it with anyone else, so I was thrilled when she dropped everything to catch the blossoms in bloom.
We found an amazing spot outside the city and shot as the sun was sinking in the sky. The air was cold and full of bees (they don’t tell you that in cherry blossom school!), but it was so beautiful and so much fun. Emily was a good sport, fending off bug attacks and braving the winds with only a flowery kimono as protection. She also looked incredible as usual, and I’m so happy with the final results.
Love the background Cherie (and Emily but I figured that one was obvious)! So glad you braved the bees for us =p.
Haha, thank you! Glad you liked the set (the bees were quite scary!)
She looks delicate even amongst those flowers. Good shooting.
Thank you!
These shots are amazing, Emily and cherry blossams go well together.
Thank you! And I completely agree!
Photo 1/15 is absolutely stunning! That’s my absolute favorite of the set. Great job!
Thank you, bvmcdaniel! Glad you liked!
Gorgeous shoot Miss Roberts! Emily has a very pretty exotic beauty to her that matches the cherry blossom settings (and that very cool kimono) you chose perfectly.
I actually have a friend that could pass as Emily’s sister; I kid you not!
Hi Mr Bond, thank you! Emily is so uniquely beautiful that it’s hard to imagine another one of her out there in the world! Your friend must be quite a beauty!
Oh she is!
This is very beautiful set, Cher.. To me, so far this is the most artistic photo shoot. Emily eyes are very seductive. Meow.. Like the lazy morning out fit. What made you pick this?
Thank you David! Glad you liked these photos… Yes, Emily has very seductive eyes indeed. As for the outfit, I wanted something that indicated Japanese culture since for me, I think of Japan when I think of cherry blossoms. So I got the kimono, but I wanted it to have an American feel, so that’s why I also chose the black lingerie. Also, I figured the robe would be nice and flowy with wind.
